The Knysna Rivers are more than water—it is memory, culture, and life. Flowing into the estuary, it was once a sanctuary for endangered seahorses and home to thriving wetlands. Around it grew natural botanical gardens, a living classroom of biodiversity. Judah Square has become the guardian of its sacred spring, holding the responsibility to protect and restore what has been entrusted to us. Yet today, pollution and neglect cloud its waters.

There are those who remember drinking straight from the river, swimming beneath its waterfalls, and gathering in its cool shade. They carry the stories of what the Bongani once was—and we carry the duty to bring it back. By adopting the Bongani, we commit to healing the river, reviving its ecosystems, and returning it to a place of pride and belonging for the community and future generations.

The Estuary carries the memory of our people—its waters once clear, flowing through waterfalls and nourishing botanical gardens. Today, its recovery is on hold until the sewage issues are fully addressed. The good news: a dedicated team is already tackling each of the hot spots, preparing the way for a full clean-up.

We are now raising funds for the special piping required to safely manage waste before restoration begins. Your support will help us:

Install proper waste storage systems to prevent future contamination
Raise awareness about responsible waste management in the community
Build protective fencing to safeguard the river and its estuary
Create systems that ensure no dumping and long-term sustainability

Every contribution brings the Estuary closer to being restored as a place of pride, life, and abundance. Throughout this program, you will explore and understand eight principles for a thriving life, delving into the methodology behind the therapeutic actions associated with each principle. Experiment with various therapeutic actions to see which resonate with you and align with your health and wellness goals. Integrate actions that seamlessly fit into your daily routine, testing each for a week or a month. Adopt practices that enhance your well-being and discard those that don't. Every Sunday, Judah Square’s Eco Warriors turn action into learning—picking up litter, building compost, recycling, planting seeds, and caring for them. Week by week, they grow habits, confidence, and pride, becoming young leaders of Generative Living and stewards of the Bongani River.

The Eco Warriors are the young heartbeat of Judah Square, learning to care for the land and their community one action at a time. Every Sunday, they step into the world as guardians of the Bongani River, picking up litter, building compost heaps, recycling, upcycling, planting seeds, and tending to them with care.

Each lesson is a building block in the 90-Day Generative Living curriculum. Week by week, the children develop new habits—turning environmental care into a natural rhythm of life. From understanding soil health to nurturing plants and wildlife, they learn that every small action has a ripple effect, shaping the community and the ecosystem around them.

Through hands-on practice, the Eco Warriors grow confidence, responsibility, and pride in their environment. They are not just learning—they are living the principles of Generative Living, becoming leaders in resilience, creativity, and restoration.
